Meet Your Host – Emmanuel Afolabi, Filmmaker & Founder of Fola Studios

Emmanuel Afolabi is a Detroit-based filmmaker, creative director, and founder of Fola Studios. With over a decade of experience in storytelling, he has produced branded content, documentaries, commercials, and social campaigns for brands including Shinola, Apple, Bedrock, and Nike.

His work blends cinematic craft with real human emotion—bringing dignity, voice, and vibrancy to every subject he captures. At Fola Studios, Emmanuel is building more than a production company—he’s creating infrastructure for Detroit’s creative community. As a full-service studio, Fola takes ideas from concept to delivery while ensuring every project, big or small, keeps people at the center.
